Advertising a toy launch: getting in front of kids and parents together
The toy-launch challenge
Toys have a tricky double audience: the child who wants it and the parent who pays for it. Reach only one and the launch stalls. Add a short selling window, often tied to holidays or a film release, and heavy competition for attention, and you need a channel that reaches both people at the same time, in the right mood.
Why play centres suit toy launches
A play centre is one of the few places where children and parents are together, relaxed, and already in a play mindset. Children are primed to want, parents are settled and paying attention, and everyone is there for hours. A new toy on the big screen lands in exactly the right moment, and it is seen again and again across the visit.
A simple launch playbook
- Show the toy in action. A short screen advert of the toy being played with does more than a static shot.
- Make it buyable. A QR code lets a parent buy on the spot, pre-order, or enter a competition while they are sat there.
- Let them try it. In-hand sampling or a small demo turns interest into trial, the strongest driver of a toy purchase.
- Time it. Line the campaign up with school holidays or a linked film or TV release for maximum demand.
Measuring it
Every campaign comes with a proof-of-play report so you can see exactly when and how often the advert ran, and QR scans give you a direct, trackable response from the screen. For the wider picture, see how play centre advertising works and how to advertise to families.
